Equality, Inclusion and Diversity

Equality, Inclusion and Diversity

Here at Cartrefi Conwy we are committed to continually improving our approach to Equality Diversity and Inclusion.

Our aim is to ensure we treat people fairly, recognising people have different needs and views and enabling all to contribute. We want to take every opportunity to embrace and celebrate diversity and create a sense of belonging amongst our colleagues and within our communities.

To do that we are working with our colleagues, our tenants, and our key partners to develop our approach. Read on to find out more about several initiatives we are currently working on:

Quality in Equality and Diversity

We are currently working with our internal Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Group and our partners at Tai Pawb to deliver our Quality in Equality and Diversity (QED) action plan.

QED is an esteemed quality mark for the Welsh Housing sector which provides a comprehensive, Wales specific framework for reviewing, improving and transforming the equality, diversity and inclusion impact of the organisation across five key strategic areas of focus including governance, services, access, involvement and culture.

Perythyn – Housing Association Inclusion Group

We are active members of the Housing Association Inclusion Group Perthyn where we work collaboratively with key partners and other housing associations such as Adra, Clwyd Alyn, Grwp Cynefin, North Wales Housing and Wales and West to raise awareness, share learning, explore best practice, and focus on service improvements in respect of EDI across the sector.

Disability Confident Employer

We are proud to have been awarded the Disability Confident Employer accreditation, which supports employers to make the most of the talents people with disabilities can bring to the workplace. Over half of workplaces are missing out because they are excluding talented people with a disability. As a Disability Confident employer, we are committed to both themes and activities within the framework of ‘Getting the right people for our business’ and ‘Keeping and developing our people’.
