Cartrefi Conwy Secures Planning Permission for Dinerth Road Development

Cartrefi Conwy is pleased to announce that full planning permission has been granted for the redevelopment of the Dinerth Road site, an important step forward in delivering much‑needed affordable homes for the community.

The organisation purchased acquired the site from the Welsh Government in April 2025, and within just twelve months has successfully navigated the planning process to secure approval for this key development.

“We are absolutely delighted to have gained planning permission for Dinerth Road,” said Sarah Murphy, Development Project Manager.

“This is an important site for the local area and securing permission marks a major milestone in our commitment to providing high‑quality, affordable housing for the people who need it most. We’re excited to move to the next stage and begin bringing this project to life.”

The Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government, Jayne Bryant, said: “I’m very pleased to see planning permission secured for the Dinerth Road development, delivering high-quality, sustainable homes in Rhos-on-Sea.

“This project is a strong example of what can be achieved through close partnership between the Welsh Government and housing associations like Cartrefi Conwy, to build the homes communities need.

“By working together and investing in developments like this, we are not only increasing the supply of affordable homes but also supporting the creation of sustainable, thriving communities across Wales where people can put down roots and build their futures.”

The development at Dinerth Road forms part of Cartrefi Conwy’s wider strategy to enhance housing provision across the region and support thriving, sustainable communities.”
