Your Community Snapshot – September

Welcome to the September edition of ‘Your Community Snapshot’. Every month we will be sharing with you all the stories and the ‘characters’ that have made a difference in your community.

First up, Bryn lead trade at Creating Enterprise Modular Solutions takes us through what goes into the walls of our new state of the art Passivhaus Modular homes in this video on our Sefton Road site.

These homes are now being built in Old Colwyn and are being built by Creating Enterprise

And certified by Beattie Passive Self Build.

These homes provide a clean air environment and will see a massive reduction in energy bills for our tenants, with most of the heating coming from passive sources such as sunlight and body heat.

 

We caught up with Sheila, one of our tenants from Llandudno, on how she’s enjoying getting back to seeing her neighbours after the lockdown at one of our Safe Distancing Bingo sessions thanks to our Community Involvement Team.

Tom from our development team showed us around our latest refurbished property from our Empty Homes Scheme in Rhyl.

The Empty Homes Scheme takes long standing empty properties and brings them up to Welsh Housing quality standard and providing much needed local housing.

We worked alongside Novus Property Solutions on the refurbishment of this property.

 

 

Lydia from our Community Involvement Team helped our tenant Vera do online shopping for the first time on our Digital Support Bus.

Our Digital Support sessions are alongside Creating Enterprise, and have been going well, long may they continue as it’s been lovely to see our older tenants learn these essential online skills.

 

 

We had a lovely seaside foraging walk with our Community Involvement Team and tenants lead by Dave Phillips (The Coastal Wanderer) funded by the The Fusion Project

Walking along Westshore in Llandudno, on the beach and in the sand dunes, our tenants got treated to an informative day  tasted all sorts of different types of seaweed, wild plants and berries.
