Celebrating Our First Tenant Awards: Recognising Outstanding Contributions in Our Communities

Earlier this year, we launched our first-ever Tenant Awards, inviting nominations from tenants and residents across Conwy and beyond. These awards were designed to honor the incredible efforts of individuals and groups who make a difference in their communities. We’re thrilled to share the stories of some of our remarkable award winners.

Community Champion Award: Clara

Our tenant judges were deeply impressed with the nomination for Clara, who was recognised with the Community Champion award.

Clara’s dedication to her community truly stood out, and our Vice Chair of the Board, Bill, had the pleasure of personally presenting the award to Clara and her son. Congratulations to Clara, and thank you for all that you do!

Community Group of the Year: Llanrwst Men’s Shed

Among the most detailed nominations we received were those for the Community Group of the Year Award. The Llanrwst Men’s Shed was selected by our tenant judges for their outstanding work in supporting men’s mental health through small joinery projects and group outings.

Our Deputy Chief Executive, Adrian, presented the award to the members of the Men’s Shed. Congratulations to the team—your work is truly making a difference!

Inspiring Young Person Award: Kayden

We called on the proud parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles in our communities to share stories of the incredible young people making an impact. Kayden, who was always ready to lend a hand and support volunteers at the local community café, won the Inspiring Young Person Award.

Our Assistant Director of Neighbourhoods, Dan, was delighted to present the award to Kayden, who was excited to meet us and accept his well-deserved recognition. Well done, Kayden!

Tenant of the Year Award: Christina

The Tenant of the Year Award had some of the most inspiring nominations, but Christina’s story stood out. She was nominated for her unwavering support of her neighbours, tending to their gardens and helping them maintain their independence. Despite facing personal challenges after her flat was affected by flooding last year, Christina remained committed to her community.

With the help of our contractor, RELM, her flat has been restored, and she’s back to making her neighbours’ gardens beautiful once again. Vice Chair of the Board, Bill, was proud to present Christina with this award.

These awards are a testament to the incredible spirit and dedication of our tenants and residents. We are honoured to recognise these outstanding individuals and groups who contribute so much to our communities. Congratulations to all our winners!
