💧 Supporting Young People’s Wellbeing at Ysgol John Bright
Monday, April 20 we were delighted to visit Ysgol John Bright to celebrate an inspiring example of young people shaping positive change in their school community.
Sharon, Director of Partnerships – Social Value, attended the Year 7 assembly to meet pupils involved in a wellbeing-led initiative, supported through grant funding.
Listening to Young Voices
Following a pupil wellbeing survey, Ysgol John Bright identified that many learners had a low daily water intake, alongside requests for easier access to drinks during the school day.
In response, Lisa Gannon, PSHE and Careers Coordinator, worked alongside Year 7 pupils and members of the School Senedd Committee to apply for grant funding to purchase reusable water bottles for pupils.
This pupil‑led approach demonstrates the power of listening to young voices and responding with practical, sustainable solutions that support health and wellbeing.
🌱 Grant Funding That Makes a Difference
This project is a great example of how our community funding supports local initiatives that help people thrive.
💚 Funding is available for local groups and organisations making a difference in communities where we have homes.
We can support:
- ✨ Youth activities that inspire
- 🌼 Community gardens and outdoor spaces
- 📚 Clubs and groups that build connections
From youth groups and walking communities to book clubs, art groups and resident‑led projects — if your activity takes place in one of our communities, we’d love to hear from you.
