Cartrefi Conwy works with tenants over the age of 55 or those with a high level need, who might need a little helping hand with living independently in their home. We have a team of amazing Independent Living Coordinators (ILCs) who can help you with:
- Emotional support and guidance
- Reporting repairs and housing related issues
- Managing important paperwork and correspondence
- Organising access to other services and professional help
- Support and promote an active social life
- Staying safe in your home
We currently provide support to 649 tenants, including 50 tenants who live outside of our traditional independent living schemes.
Meet our Team of Independent Living Coordinators and find out where they work.
The Supporting People programme is funded by Welsh Government and provides support to help vulnerable people to live as independently as possible, giving the help they need to live in their own homes or other specialist housing. The vision of the Supporting People Programme is to help people find and keep a home that meets their needs and encourages independence in a healthy and safe environment. Our Independent Living Coordinators are partly funded by this programme.
Older People Getting Involved
We are committed to promoting independence and enhancing lives by involving our older people in shaping the services they receive. We run several projects to help older people improve their health and wellbeing, including the Passion For Life and Give Where You Live programmes and the annual Older Person’s Day, an event which celebrates the contributions our older people make to our communities. Find out more here about these projects and events.
Note: Independent Living Properties is the new name for Sheltered Housing; Independent Living Coordinators is the new name for Wardens.
