In a significant commitment to addressing the housing crisis and promoting local employment, Creating Enterprise has announced a £100,000 investment aimed at building 350 high-quality timber frame homes over the next five years. This substantial funding will not only enhance our production capabilities but also create valuable apprenticeship roles within the community
To meet the ambitious goal of constructing these homes, we have strategically invested in advanced equipment and infrastructure. This investment is crucial for producing essential components such as timber frame panels, Posi-joists, and floor cassettes. In addition to these, we manufacture other products like Secured by Design-approved sheds in various sizes, as well as fence panels, all of which will be used in building new homes.
As a direct result of this initiative, we are thrilled to announce the creation of two new apprenticeship positions. These roles will provide aspiring professionals with hands-on training in timber frame construction, equipping them with the skills needed for successful careers in the construction industry. Our apprentices will gain invaluable experience in a factory setting, contributing to the production process while learning from seasoned professionals.
[Louis’s story] Louis started with Creating Enterprise as a Trainee Production Operative after a short period of unemployment. He received comprehensive training in operating various plant machinery and air tools, including the MiTeK Posi-Joist Press, Salvador Optimiser Saw, Combi-Lift Side Loader, and pneumatic tools.
Louis has demonstrated a keen aptitude for his role, mastering the manufacturing processes of diverse products, including Posi-Joists, Fence Panels, Sheds, and Timber Frame structures.
His dedication and competence have now been rewarded, leading to his successful transition into a full-fledged Production Operative.
Adding to his achievements, Louis has been handpicked by Richard Chance, Production and Business Development Partner to participate in a prestigious Train the Trainer Programme specifically tailored for the MiTeK Posi-Joist Press.
Our organisation is committed to sustainable building practices and community development. This investment is a testament to our dedication to fostering a thriving local economy while meeting the growing demand for affordable housing.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project as we work towards transforming our vision into reality—one timber frame home at a time.
